After many years of educating myself about local and national politics, my findings were sad and depressing. Most of the politicians I believe have represented their beliefs and not the whole.
It was confirmed when I decided to get involved and spend the day at our Capitol speaking with my local senator and representatives last month. Out of the three in District 23, only two would see me and fellow constituents. They had plenty of notice.
My senator, who spent five minutes with us, would not even look us in the eye, because he did not support our issues. And when asked if I could verify false information that he was given, he said ‘no’ because he did not believe the source.
Now, he never knew who the source was ... hmmm. All my thoughts confirmed.
