Ever read how you can boil a live frog? If you put the frog in a pot with boiling hot water, the frog will immediately jump out. However, if you start by putting the frog in a pan with cold water and then raise the temperature very slowly, the frog won’t feel the change and he will be boiled alive.
If we keep ignoring human-caused global warming, we will wind up the same way as the frog. Global warming is a slow process that is almost unnoticeable to most people except for scientists and people, like me, who have always been very close to nature.
However, global warming’s effects on the livability of the only home we will ever have will be irreversible once it has gone too far.
I predict that within the next 30 years many people born today will perish due to lack of water and food and that the world’s population will shrink to 3 billion people, which is a little more than what scientists consider the optimum carrying capacity of the Earth.
So, just keep on overpopulating the planet, burning fossil fuels and eliminating rainforests. Nature will bite back eventually.
