A lot of voters would like to see new blood in the Idaho Legislature, but it’s not going to happen without at least 45 to 50 new candidates and voters getting out to vote. We need both to make a change.
There is nothing more frustrating than having no one on the ballot you want to vote for. Consider putting your name on the ballot. There are 35 State Districts with one Senate and two House seats each.
Candidates, find out what District you are in, go to the Idaho Secretary of State website, click Elections and learn how to file as a Partisan or Independent candidate for Federal, State and County offices. It’s straightforward. You can also be your own treasurer. Democrats can contact actblue.com for online fundraising support. It’s not too early to look into it. You have to file as a candidate between Feb. 29 and March 11, 2016.
Voters, go to IdahoVotes.org for details on when our four yearly elections are held, what issues are addressed and the options you have for voting. Put the election dates on your calendar and please vote in every election.
