The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) was created to enhance the scenic and recreational lives of the residents of the state of Idaho. After a year-and-a-half battle and a YouTube video, a Farragut Park manager agreed to replace a historic 50-year-old bench. He did so with the smallest and most uncomfortable bench possible. It resembles more of a balance beam than a bench. Local residents even offered to pay for a replacement bench but were turned down.
The Director of IDPR met with local residents in October of 2014 in hopes of finding a solution and closure but we are still waiting. The Bayview Community Council, a local nonprofit organization, has sent IDPR a letter of support for a replacement bench.
IDPR is tasked with listening and working with local communities. Does anyone in Boise hear us?
