In a July 29 guest opinion, George Moses extolled the virtues of the federal government, mentioned what it used to be and is supposed to be (of, by and for the people), and made the ridiculous statement that “no law is imposed by executive fiat.”
One has to wonder where Mr. Moses has been hiding for the last six years. The present temporary (thank goodness) resident of the White House, and his administration, are masters at ruling by executive fiat: think immigration and the latest rules on power plants. All the rules and regulations imposed by the EPA, BLM, USFS, USFWS (all executive branches) are executive fiat, as are the onerous regulations making it practically impossible for small businesses to survive.
This president rules almost exclusively by executive fiat. He ignores or bypasses Congress, ignores the courts, ignores the Constitution and constantly rules against the will of the people.
Time to wake Mr. Moses from his six-year slumber.
