Each of the times I entered the polls for school levies voting, I envisioned better pay for teachers, upgrades for students and “badly” needed repairs for the schools. I certainly did not have visions of fancy landscaping projects with shrubs and flowers.
My first 12 school years were surrounded by concrete, asphalt, dirt and trees. In college we found some grass and flowers in front of the main office. We could always “walk” to a nearby park. At the next vote for school levies I will more likely have visions of all the glorious landscaping being tended by gardeners and plenty of our bountiful water being sprayed all over. Priorities? Where?
