Illegal fireworks — blocking North End streets. As a native of Boise’s North End, I too have concerns over illegal fireworks activity during the Fourth of July holiday. However, I am also one of those residents who regularly receives permission to block streets for the safety of our families — adults and kids celebrating the Fourth by having bike parades, water balloon fights, and just generally running around having fun. We truly have a “block” party on the Fourth where neighbors use the street not as a dividing line, but as a common area for all to play and have fun. We are truly a community in our neighborhood and appreciate the opportunity to safely come together as bi-peds — it’s a good thing.
