It’s amazing to me how it’s OK to present a “send-up,” as Dana Oland put it in her review of theatrical show called “The Book of Mormon,” and NOT set aside for a moment doing this same kind of belittlement of other religions. Can you imagine the backlash if the same kind of “satire” were performed about the secularist’s “religion” or cause du-jour: gay marriage? Would that be OK, too? I’m sure that kind of play wouldn’t win Tony Awards. You can’t have it both ways. Both types will be offensive to someone.
