The recent letter by Don Lojek, attorney, was interesting, especially for its lack of evidence or research. Guns in the hands of citizens do indeed save lives.
His rant about open carry also wasn’t researched. The National Rifle Association has never advocated open carry for everyone.
In Moore, OK: Sept. 26, 2014, a recently fired employee returned and attacked with a knife, beheading one woman and stabbing a second. The boss shoots the killer.
Upper Darby, PA: July 24, 2014, Richard Plotts shoots and kills a female worker and wounds Dr. Lee Silverman. But Silverman has a pistol within reach and returns fire, stopping gunman.

Aurora, CO: April 22, 2012, a gunman showed up at the New Destiny Christian Center and shot the pastor’s mother to death. A parishioner shot the man and saved many lives.
Salt Lake City, Feb. 12, 2007, a man starts shooting people at random in a mall. An armed individual pinned him down until the police came.
There are more, but no room for them.
Having a gun in the hands of responsible citizens seems to work every time it is tried. Gun free zones are slaughter pens for helpless innocents.
