Boise Mayor Dave Bieter had the Mississippi state flag removed from the Boise City Hall building because it contains the so-called Confederate Stars and Bars, long associated as being the flag of the Confederate States of America and offensive racist symbol, akin to the Nazi Swastika. I don’t have a problem with this. What I do have an issue with is that the the Stars and Bars was never the flag of the Confederate nation, but rather it was the Confederate Battle Flag flown alongside the Confederate national flag during battle. If you want to know what the Confederate national flag looks like, then go look at the state flag of Georgia and remove the state symbol from inside the circle of stars and there you go. The Georgia state flag is the Confederate flag. Hopefully the next step will be to take down the Georgia flag as well.
