Letter: Confederate flag

Having given thought to the idea that we must rid our society of the vestiges of slavery (Confederate flag), I have concluded that there are two things we must do. First, we must get rid of the original states that seceded from the union. I propose that we have a lottery by the other states and as such Georgia might become South Iowa or Eastern Oregon. Alternatively, we could just turn each of these states into national parks. Second, we must rid the country of two of the most visible symbols of slavery: Mount Rushmore’s Washington and Jefferson (slaveholders both). The base of the mountain is filled with the talus of the monument’s construction, so I don’t think the rubble from George and Thomas will be noticed. These two simple things will bring peace to our land and the cosmos will once again be in harmony.
