Don Lojek’s letter about guns was laughable. He mocked the idea of the churchgoers in Charleston being armed, but if they had been, the shooter may have killed only a couple of churchgoers before he was killed, wounded or forced to flee. Having 3-4 dead is FAR better than 13, especially if one of the dead was the assailant.
Don mocked the idea of an armed society being a peaceful one, but how many times have hoodlums tried to rob a police station? They could get drugs, guns, cash and release gang members, drug dealers and hookers who would all be in their debt. Sweet. Why doesn’t it happen? Because police stations are filled with armed officers who are willing and able to exert deadly force. And no, Don, they don’t walk around with their fingers on the trigger as you assert.
Lastly, Jesus did advocate for open carry. In Luke 22:36, he tells the apostles to sell their clothes in order to buy swords if they don’t already have one. Swords were the open-carry weapon of the day.
Charleston taught us that when seconds count, the police are just minutes away.

I trust Jesus more than I do Don.
