The Confederate flag has stirred the pot of political correctness. There is a move to rewrite history and pretend that the Civil War never happened. Historical events need to be viewed in the proper prospective and not as if they happened yesterday. In the 1860s about 260,000 Southern American soldiers died fighting for the Confederacy. That flag represents part of the Civil War and yes, perhaps they all belong in museums. The city of Boise did a California knee-jerk reaction and pulled the flag of Mississippi. Not what I expected in Idaho. Where are we going with this people? Should we bulldoze Arlington National Cemetery because it represents war and war is unpopular. How about the Idaho Veterans Cemetery. History is not all pretty and nice, but it happened, and we learn from it. Don’t try to erase it.
