Reply to Otter vs. Fulcher by Gary Bennett (June 15).
It is a shame that Mr. Bennett is so misinformed by the liberal media on former Idaho Sen. Russ Fulcher. Sen. Fulcher ran as a Republican conservative in the 2014 primary and had many conservative groups backing him, including many tea parties. Bennett’s attempt to smear Sen. Fulcher’s reputation by trying to connect him to some scandal to the benefit of Otter is proof Bennett doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Gov. Butch Otter was at the forefront of the CCA prison scandal which was settled for $1 million, the school broadband scandal which has so far cost $30 plus million. He also led the charge for the state health care exchange after bowing to pressure from lobbyists from IACI, insurance companies and the medical establishment. He said a state exchange would be more efficient and reduce costs. We now have rate increases of 25 to 30 percent on insurance premiums and exchange fee increases of 25 percent, and he is silent. I’d say before Bennett writes any more about Sen. Fulcher he does a bit more research, because it appears he has little or no knowledge about either person he discussed.
