Letter: Syrian refugees

According to the Times-News in Twin Falls (June 8 Statesman, West Views) we should welcome the refugees from Syria to Idaho. Those against the welcome are “driven by fear, paranoia, racism and lies.” They are your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, etc. Millions — Italians, Germans and Irish came (one important omission is that they were all Christians). Tens of thousands of Christians have been murdered, raped or displaced by Islamics. There hasn’t been a great outcry against this in the Muslim world with the exception of Egypt. Could not Christians be better assimilated into our society? An example of nonassimilation by Islamics is the attempt of using Sharia Law over our laws in Dearborn, Mich.
