Letter: Assisted living

I gave up my job to be with my 93-year-old grandmother, who has worked all her life to leave something to her children. My grandfather died about 15 years ago. Grandma wants to look into an assisted living, so we did — $3,700 a month. Wow, I thought price gouging was against the law. Grandma has money so she will get no help from our wonderful government. All that they have worked for will be gone. House, bank account, everything. Who is going to pay my fine for no insurance? I’m sorry, I have to do what our government will not for our seniors.
