Regarding the recent nasty editorial from the Moscow-Pullman newspaper regarding the University of Idaho and its drive to increase enrollment: I’m surprised by the negative tone of the editorial and disappointed in the Statesman for reprinting it.
Here are just a couple of many points from U of I’s Web page: “Recognized by Washington Monthly magazine’s 2014 College Guide as a top 100 national school, 2nd in the Pacific Northwest among universities that are America’s best in social mobility, research, service and the value of the educational experience. Also ranked in the top 50 in the ‘Best Bang for your Buck’ national universities.” And “We are among only 15% of the nation’s colleges listed in The Princeton Review’s ‘Best 368 Colleges.’”
The Erstad-Hennessey family has had three generations of excellent experience with the University of Idaho in Moscow — academically, socially and on the sports field. We heartily recommend it as a terrific place for bright young Idahoans to learn and grow.
