Interesting coincidence in the Friday, April 24, Statesman. Bill Roberts, in his article “Vista neighborhood children to get preschool,” states that “Idaho lawmakers have resisted spending money on early childhood education, saying that is a role for families, and the state needs to put its resources toward public schools.” Robert Ehlert opines, on the same page, that Idaho is spending $2 million of its resources to fund a March Republican primary, one in which only a fraction of Idaho citizens will be allowed to vote, and will have little to no significance. A much better use of $2 million rather than preschool. Go figure.
