I am writing to tell you about my experience as a Girl Scout dad and to talk about the community work performed by Girl Scouts of Silver Sage. I am a volunteer member of the board of directors and a father of a Girl Scout. I have seen the organization’s positive impact on these young girls firsthand. My daughter, Sophia, has been a Girl Scout for five years, and I have been present for every step of her journey. I have watched Sophia begin to understand her ability to make a difference in the community and the importance of looking out for her friends and neighbors. At the 2014 Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Idaho Gives Day Luncheon, Sophia spoke in front of community members, including Mayor Dave Bieter. Experiences like these have helped her become comfortable in talking to people about her goals.
Idaho Gives Day is today. It offers residents the perfect opportunity to show support for local nonprofits. By donating to Girl Scouts, you ensure that girls like Sophia are able to continue learning and growing for years to come.
