As a professional wildland firefighter, I have seen firsthand the power and generosity of Vicki Minor and the Wildland Firefighter Foundation. This small organization is the one we turn to at the most difficult of times, fulfilling a need our own agencies cannot seem to properly grasp. Vicki and her staff have a passion to serve and take care of ‘her firefighters’ and as a community we are forever thankful that she created such an outstanding and caring organization. That the WFF requires a few minor changes to better benefit the people they serve sounds reasonable, but any criticism Vicki or the organization may have received is surely drowned out by the hundreds of firefighters and their families she has helped over the years. We owe her a debt of gratitude that we will never be able to repay.
