Letter: Nuclear energy

Nuclear is far from being a carbon-free source of energy. The only source that produces more carbon is the production of shale oil. Having personal experience related to this industry, I can tell you that extraction of the ore and the processing into fuel rods produces a massive carbon footprint. After the fuel rods are spent and even with reprocessing them, we are left with a nightmare of waste to contend with.
