Another child injured needlessly with a gun. It is all too common and I feel compelled to write every time it happens. The statistics are only getting worse. The United States leads the world in accidental gun deaths, and the NRA is so powerful we cannot get even reasonable restrictions in place to help protect our children. None of the parents thought their children knew where the gun was hidden in the house. None of the parents thought their child would “play” with a gun. They had educated them on gun safety.
This mindset is as naive as parents who say their children don’t have sex because they are “good” children and have been educated about sex. For more information on gun statistics, read the article http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/29/us/children-and-guns-the-hidden-toll.html?_r=0
