Except for politicians, we all agree that massacres in our schools are not a good thing and something should be done to prevent future massacres. It is obvious that after 41 school shootings just this year, politicians are in the pocket of the NRA and our pleas for compassion, morality and ethics are pointless. Let’s be clear: You know and I know politicians are for sale. So I propose buying them the same way the NRA does. Actually it’s pretty cheap.
NRA donations to Sen. Mike Crapo were $43,700; Sen. Jim Risch got $14,850; Rep. Mike Simpson took $4,000; and Rep. Raul Labrador got $7,000. (I reckon the NRA values some senators and congressmen over others). But folks, for just $69,550, we can buy what the NRA buys and get the votes for some sort of gun legislation to protect our kids.
I propose establishing a Buy an Idaho Politician and Save Our Kids Fund (BIPSOK). Because we should anticipate a bidding war with the NRA, let’s set a goal of $100,000. I think buying a politician for $25,000 each to save the lives of our children is a bargain.
Anybody got a better idea?
