Have you ever wondered why your heath insurance premium costs have soared? Here is one tactic used by your insurance company:
Doctor writes a prescription (Rx). Rx is kicked back at the pharmacy because insurance company requires prior authorization from the doctor. So now, pharmacy has to call doctor to sign another form. That form then has to be faxed to the insurance company. A representative there has to manually enter the prior authorization, then notify the pharmacy that it is OK to fill the Rx for which the doctor already signed his approval when he wrote the Rx in the first place.
Extra cost of this? I estimate $100 per prescription.
Until the public becomes educated on these tactics used by insurance companies, prices will climb. Obamacare is not the villain; your insurance company is. Write the CEO of your insurance company and ask him to change his policies or you will switch to another company. Only you have the power to change this, people.
