Valas letter: Vote person, not party

I have been watching the ads by our current crop of candidates for governor on the Republican side of the race , and they all have one thing in common. They want small government and no taxes.

Well I, for one, like clean air and water, good schools with well paid teachers, safe roads and bridges, parks and libraries, police and firemen, public lands, and all the other things our tax money supports. I also support workers’ right to bargain for wages and benefits. Nobody likes bad government or your hard earned tax money being wasted.

In order to have the government that best serves the population, do your homework and vote for the person and not the party that best serves your interests.
