James letter: Butch Otter

Let me get this straight. Governor Otter had concerns with the Stand Your Ground bill since it has “potential unintended consequences for our children” and because it “will exonerate killings that otherwise would be considered unreasonable.” Nonetheless, instead of vetoing this bill, he lets it become law without his signature. I don’t think we’ll have to worry about any future editions of “Profiles in Courage” having a chapter devoted to Butch Otter.
