Bennett letter: Donald Trump

Everywhere there are headlines about the failure of Trumpism:

“Trump’s budget balloons deficits, cuts social safety net.”

“Federal tax overhaul could cost Idaho taxpayers $100 M.”

“Trump’s budget would usher in new deficit era.”

Trump promised again and again to protect the safety net. Republicans screamed at President Obama for a balanced budget. All lies.

Now Trump and his Republican minions are sending America into a financial death spiral just like ancient Rome.

Republicans (and Trump) do not understand economics. Reagan cut taxes (but not spending) and tripled the national debt — that’s what “trickle down” does.

Bush cut taxes twice (you don’t cut taxes during wartime), thereby doubling Reagan’s debt.

Now Trump and the Republicans have pushed the country toward inflation by cutting taxes in an already (thanks to President Obama) full-employment economy. The stock market is going crazy.

Meanwhile, Idaho’s Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Crapo, Risch, Simpson, Labrador) have ridden off into the sunset to collect their unearned welfare checks.

The only one laughing is Trump’s colluder Vladimir Putin.
