Who was behind the recent remodeling of the area in front of Boise City Hall? Downtown traffic is utterly miserable as it is, and someone decided that it was way more important for City Hall to have a lot more concrete and landscaping than it was to have a lane of traffic. In addition to the wanton disregard for the public, this arrangement created an illusion of sorts — when you’re in lane 3 headed north, you see a line of cars directly ahead of you. At first glance, they look like they’re in the traffic lane, but they’re actually parked. They could very easily have put this parking off to the side of the road by putting down less concrete and landscaping.
