What has happened to Idaho? This state used to be conservative. This state used to believe in smaller government and local control over local issues. This state used to believe in the U.S. Constitution and the rights of American citizens. This state used to believe that local decisions should be decided locally without big government interference.
Now you are considering HB 568, a very bad bill that vacates every conservative principle that ever existed for the purpose of stripping away yet another layer of local control while limiting the ability of citizens to petition their government for redress of their grievances in direct contravention of the U.S. Constitution and the conservative principles upon which Idaho was founded. Did I miss something? Have you people all become drug-addled sycophants for big government and big business at the expense of Idaho citizens? HB 568 is just insane, and no serious representative of the people would ever vote for this assault on his or her constituents.
In the strongest possible terms I urge you to vote against HB 568 and work to make sure this very bad bill never becomes law.
