I call “do gooders” those who do good things for people or society. It seems there are two kinds, one kind includes people and organizations like donors, churches, charities, etc., that raise money or goods voluntarily given. The other kind of “do gooders” like to use OPM, or other people’s money. They are most often our friends on the left who rarely see a social problem that can’t be fixed by throwing money at it, especially when it’s paid for with OPM. We should all be or support the first kind as best we can; but be wary of the second kind, who just love to press their liberal agendas with our tax dollars. That said, few of us quarrel with paying taxes to fund the essential services required by the proper role of government.
