Belliston letter: Physician-assisted death

The Idaho state law that prohibits a patient with terminal cancer to die with a physician’s aid is unconstitutional.

I have observed three of my family members slowly die of cancer. There is no point in dying a slow death with suffering, disgrace and indignity.

It is wrong to allow our pets to succumb to a more humane, gentle death than humans.

The choice on how we die is a basic human right — not the government’s right.

There are seven states (Oregon, Washington, California, Vermont, Montana, Colorado and Washington) that legally allow physicians to assist in the death process.

The Idaho state law denying physicians to do assisted death remains unchanged. Please let us vote as Idaho citizens on this subject on Election Day.
