A Minnesota appeals court Wednesday granted the American Civil Liberties Union's request to file a friend of the court brief in support of Sen. Larry Craig's effort to withdraw a guilty plea in a bathroom sex sting case.
Craig is appealing a judge's decision not to let the senator withdraw his guilty plea to misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Craig pleaded guilty but has sought to have the plea dismissed.
The ACLU claims the disorderly conduct law is "impermissibly overbroad and impermissibly vague" and unconstitutional.
