Applications sought for two openings on Idaho Fish & Game commission

The Governor’s office is taking applications for two expiring regional slots on the seven-member Idaho Fish & Game Commission.

The appointments of Magic Valley Region Commissioner Mark Doerr and Salmon Region Commissioner Will Naillon expire June 30. Successful candidates must reside in one of those regions and be “well informed and interested in wildlife conservation and restoration,” according to a statement from Gov. Butch Otter’s office.

Fish and Game commissioners are appointed from seven regions around the state and serve staggered four-year terms, with no more than four commissioners from the same political party. Their appointments must be confirmed by the state Senate. Members oversee the director and the budget of the Department of Fish and Game and set state policy on fishing, hunting, trapping and wildlife management.

To apply, contact Ann Beebe in the Governors office at 208-334-2100 or by email at The deadline is June 3.
