The Jeb Bush campaign Monday highlighted endorsements from former Idaho Gov. Dirk Kempthorne and two other ex-governors.
Bush, the former Florida governor, “has rolled out a real western lands and resource management plan, issues that matter a tremendous amount in Idaho, Nevada, and many other states,” said Kempthorne, who also served as U.S. Interior secretary. “Beyond that, I know Jeb Bush to be a conservative, a man of character, and someone who brings tremendous judgment to public office.”
Former Govs. Frank Keating of Oklahoma and Lincoln Almond of Rhode Island also endorsed Bush. The campaign said 15 former governors are lined up behind Bush including Tom Ridge of Pennsylvania, Fife Symington of Arizona, Tommy Thompson of Wisconsin and Bill Weld of Massachusetts.
