Idaho Reps. Mike Simpson and Raul Labrador split votes once again Wednesday as the Republican House caucus put forward Paul Ryan for House speaker and the full House approved a two-year bipartisan budget agreement.
Simpson voted for the budget deal and for Ryan. Labrador voted against the agreement and for Rep. Daniel Webster of Florida, although he pledged to support Ryan when the full House votes to elect a speaker Thursday.
The budget agreement “isn’t perfect,” Simpson said in a statement. “But I realize that this agreement is necessary for the health and stability of our economy.”
The budget vote was 266-167, with all no votes coming from Republicans.
The Republican caucus vote for Speaker went 200-43 for Ryan over Webster.
