UPDATE: Two injured, westbound I-84 traffic clogged east of Boise after one-vehicle crash

A one-car crash on Interstate 84 near the Boise Stage Stop just before noon Monday, injuring two people and clogging westbound traffic for nearly two hours, Idaho State Police report.

Christina Ortiz, 31, of Fairview, OK, was driving west in a 2006 Dodge Caravan when the van went off the left shoulder of the road at Milepost 71, ISP reports. Ortiz over-corrected and the van crossed the westbound lanes and hit a cement barrier before coming to a rest in the middle of the travel lanes, according to an ISP news release.

Passengers Wayne Goodsell, 67, of Fairview, OK, and a juvenile were transported to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Ortiz and four other juvenile passengers were uninjured. All seven occupants were wearing their seat belts, ISP reports

All westbound lanes of I-84 at milepost 71 were blocked for approximately 45 minutes, and one lane remained blocked for an additional hour while crews worked to clear the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
