The Idaho Transportation Department is replacing the bridge just north of Cascade over the North Fork of the Payette River, and warns that delays due to intermittent closures will start Monday as crews place girders.
Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Traffic on Idaho 55 could be stopped in both directions for periods of 20 to 45 minutes while support beams are placed.
The speed limit in the work zone will be 25 mph.
Authorities say the 65-year-old bridge has to be rebuilt to meet modern standards.
Construction is expected to wrap up late this year. For updates, email email@example.com, visit www.itd.idaho.gov/Projects/D3/ID55NorthForkBridge, text “CASCADEBRIDGE” to 22828 or call 208-334-8938.
