Senate panel ensures voters can change affiliation at polls

If you want to change your party affiliation at the polls so you can vote in the March 8 Republican Presidential Primary you can, The Spokesman-Review's Betsy Russell reported Tuesday in her blog Eye on Boise.

Idaho Secretary of State Lawerence Denney had proposed a bill to move up the affiliation deadline from its current March 12 date to Feb. 12, a week from Friday. But the Senate State Affairs Committee refused to print the bill and hold a hearing.

If you are a Democrat this law would not have affected you unless you want to vote in the Republican Presidential Primary Only the Republican Party and the Constitution Party require you to state your party affiliation to vote.

Idaho Democrats will caucus March 22 in each county to pick between Hilliary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.
