It's Salvation Army Week in Boise

This is the 60th annual National Salvation Army Week, as designated by then-President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1954.

The organization has been active in the Treasure Valley for 126 years.

The Salvation Army Boise will celebrate the with a customer and volunteer appreciation event at its thrift store on State Street.

Join staffers on Friday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for coffee, cookies, deals and door prizes.

There will also be an opportunity to learn about programs offered by The Salvation Army and meet the majors from 10 a.m. to noon. The store is located at 4308 W. State St. and is open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
