Several crews are working together to fight a blaze Saturday on the Boise Ridge near Robie Creek, according to David Olson, spokesperson for Boise National Forest.
The fire was called in around 5 p.m. and is about 3 to 4 acres. It was likely started by a vehicle fire, Olson said.
No injuries have been reported at this time, but the fire is burning about a half mile from structures and residential areas, Olson said.
Crews from the Idaho Department of Lands, Bureau of Land Management, the Forest Service, Wilderness Ranch and Robie Creek are working together to fight the fire. They’re using seven engines, a helicopter, three air tankers and a heavy lift helicopter is en route, Olson said.
It’s a “aggressive initial attack, because the goal is to keep the fire small,” Olson said.
