Crews contain Moore Fire, south of Kuna, at nearly 1,400 acres. Road reopens
Officials have reopened a roadway south of Kuna following a weekend wildfire.
Fire crews contained the Moore Fire, which grew to about 1,395 acres, by 10:27 p.m. Saturday, said Chad Cline, Bureau of Land Management Boise District fire information officer.
Cline said crews continued to mop up fire spots on Sunday and hoped to fully extinguish the fire by the afternoon. No structures were damaged and the cause of the Moore Fire was still under investigation, according to Cline.
Law enforcement closed Swan Valley Road, between West Victory Lane and Dedication Point, as crews worked to gain control of the fire, but reopened it by 8 p.m, according to the bureau. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office said those recreating in the Swan Falls area were “safe and not in the active fire area.”
The response to the fire, which started at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, included two overhead personnel, four fire engines, two dozers, two fire investigators and one water tender.
“Please continue to use caution in the area as firefighters and equipment remain actively working along the fire perimeter,” the bureau said in a social media post. “Expect smoke, emergency vehicles, and personnel operating near roadways.”
