ISU adds app to promote campus safety

Idaho State University is offering a free app to students meant to increase their safety on its four campuses in Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls and Meridian.

The app has several features, including an alert for friends or family if you are late getting somewhere, an emergency call button that will notify campus security of your information and location, and the ability to send a text or photo to campus security if you see something suspicious on campus.

“We are encouraging all students, as well as our faculty and staff, to download this new mobile app,” said Arthur Vailas, ISU president. “This app offers students another way to say connected and stay safe.”

More than 1,000 campuses are using the app from Rave Guardian, ISU officials say.
