#24hrThink participants participated in a design thinking crash course. The design thinking process is an eight-step process that has developed the likes of Apple and Google. The students will use the process to fix Idaho's problems.
The first steps, as told by participant and Middleton High junior Sierra Cowan:
Design thinking: an exhilarating, fast-paced process of design.
When you're split into groups, surrounded by strangers, and instructed to design our ideal bag in 10 minutes, anything goes.
We interviewed each other superficially about the bags, and eventually we began asking each other about our motivations and ambitious desires for the bag itself. We then built prototypes of our bags of all sorts, shapes and sizes.
Next up, participants will continue the design thinking process by scoping the problem and learning empathy.
