Jermaine James Arrats, 35, was arrested Tuesday on charges of robbery and aggravated assault with a vehicle after a carjacking involving a Nissan GTR valued at $100,000, Garden City Police said.
The carjacker sped away down Chinden Boulevard, then crashed the car near Latah and Crescent Rim in Boise, police said. A man, later identified as Arrats, was seen running from the crash site and was apprehended by Boise and Garden City police at the intersection of Roosevelt and Bethel.
Arrats, wearing only underwear and socks, was taken to a local hospital for treatment before being booked into the Ada County Jail, police said.
The carjacker forcibly removed a driver from the 2014 Nissan in the 3100 block of Chinden, then drove east at a high rate of speed, police said. Witnesses tried to stop the man, police said.
