Meridian police seek suspect in armed robbery

Meridian Police Department is looking for a person they believe threatened a Sonic employee for cash.

MPD responded at around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday to a report of an armed robbery at the Sonic Drive-in at 4936 N. Linder Road. A man entered the business and threatened an employee with a knife, demanding money. The employee complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a Tuesday news release.

The man fled with the cash in the direction of McMillan Road, MPD reported.

The man was described as being in his mid-twenties, 5-foot-8, slender and wearing a white hoodie, a black jacket with white stripes, a red bandanna on his face, baggy camo pants and black and white shoes. He was also wearing a black backpack, according to police.
