Meridian police issue warning about possible child enticement

A 14-year-old boy reported to police he was approached Monday afternoon by a man who asked the boy if he wanted a ride in the area of North Goddard Creek Way and Ditch Creek.

The man drove up in a black four-door Toyota SUV and stopped to talk with the boy, who was walking. The man left after another vehicle pulled up behind him.

The boy called home to his mother, who contacted Meridian police.

The subject was described as a man in his 50s or 60s with a close-cropped graying beard and missing two teeth near the right front of the right side of his mouth. He wore metal-frame eyeglasses, police said.

Police ask that anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in that area or are familiar with a man who matches that description to call the Meridian Police Department at 888-6678.
