A Boise man is charged with having illegal sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl he met online, the Ada County Sheriff's Office reported Thursday.
Josiah P. Kershner, 32, was booked into the Ada County jail Sunday and remained in jail on a sexual battery of a minor Thursday evening on a $200,000 bond.
Kershner, a registered sex offender in Washington state since 2006,, contacted the girl earlier this summer through an online dating website, and the conversation then switched to Google Gmail accounts, ACSO reports
Kershner arranged to pick up the girl near her Kuna home Sunday afternoon, then took her to an area where he had sexual contact with her, investigators say.

A short time later, a third party called ACSO and the investigation began. Kershner continued to send messages to the girl after dropping her off, investigators said.
Deputies identified Kershner at a home in Boise. Deputies arrested him a short time later.
Kershner’s next court appearance is set for Aug. 10. Detectives are working to determine if he has any other local victims.
