Boise man faces involuntary manslaughter charge in fatal ATV crash from last fall

Tyson Cornell, 28, was arrested by Boise police Thursday afternoon on a Valley County warrant in connection with the death of a Caldwell woman in a September all terrain vehicle crash.

Cornell and his fiancee Laura Ream, 28, of Caldwell were riding a Yamaha Rhino near West Mountain Road in Valley County Sept. 21 when the ATV rolled over on Ream, the Valley County Sheriff's Office reported at the time. She was pronounced dead at Cascade Medical Center.

A 2-year-old boy who was a passenger on the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was flown to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. The sheriff's office said the boy was wearing a helmet, which likely saved his life.

Ream and Cornell were not wearing helmets or seatbelts, the sheriff's office reported.

Cornell was arrested on the felony charge late Thursday afternoon and bonded out of the Ada County Jail. State court records do not list a date for his first court appearance in Valley County. Arrest records list Cornell as a Boise resident, but he lived in Caldwell when the fatal accident happened.
