Gregory A. Hubbard, 31, of Boise was booked into the Ada County jail Wednesday, charged with assaulting an officer and resisting or obstructing officers, police reported Thursday.
Boise police responded to a home in West Boise to assist firefighters on a call of a possible structure fire at 3:09 p.m. When officers arrived, they spoke with the man who had called 911, police said. The man, later identified as Hubbard, "appeared paranoid and erratic, causing officer concern for his safety and the safety of others."
As officers spoke with him, the man struggled with one officer and kicked the officer in the leg, police said. Another officer deployed a Taser, and Hubbard was taken into custody
Firefighters checked the house and found no evidence of a fire, police said. Hubbard remained in the Ada County Jail Thursday evening.
