Meridian Police are investigating whether Gary Michael Batten, 53, engaged in lewd conduct with a teen over the course of several years.
Ada County dispatchers received a call from the victim, who knows Batten, at 11 p.m. on Saturday reporting an incident that occurred four years ago. After further investigation, police arrested Batten; he’s now charged with two counts of lewd conduct with a child under 16 years old.
The incident reported to police occurred in Boise. Investigators are looking into possible other incidents in Meridian and involving other victims, said Tracy Basterrechea, deputy chief of the Meridian Police Department.
Batten was arraigned Monday, with his bond set at $250,000. He was still in the Ada County Jail as of Tuesday morning.
